Questions?
Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together.
If you don’t see your question listed below, contact me.
-
My office is located at 1810 E Ray Rd, Suite A209, Chandler, AZ, 85225
-
I offer both!
Although I prefer to work in-person, I can also provide online therapy to individuals who are physically located in Arizona.
-
In our first session, we will meet for about 60-90 minutes and discuss your current situation and goals for our work together. I'll ask about relevant history of your life including your upbringing, family, relationships, work, cultural and spiritual influences.
At the end of your first appointment, we'll determine how frequently we'd like to meet. Typically clients begin with meeting weekly or biweekly.
-
If we choose to meet virtually, you'll receive an email just before your appointment with a link to a secure video chat. You can use your phone or a laptop to connect - typically people prefer using a laptop.
For virtual appointments, you'll need to be in a private room so that no disruptions take from our time together. It's idea to have adequate lighting and comfortable seating with a surface you can set your phone or laptop on.

Individual Follow-up 50-minute session: $140
Payment can be made via cash, check, or card (including HSA). While I do not accept insurance, I can provide a superbill (receipt) which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement if you’d like.
I do charge the full session fee for cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment. Payment is due at the time of service.

If finances are the only thing holding you back from reaching out, please know that in some circumstances I have been able to create acceptable arrangements with folks based on one’s unique situation.
Additionally, I can provide referrals to therapists who may be able to accommodate your financial situation.

Unfortunately I do not take insurance. However, I am able to provide a superbill to you which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement if you have out of network benefits.
Since my practice does not take insurance, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

Some helpful questions to ask your insurance:
Do I have a mental or behavioral health policy with out of network benefits?
What is the coverage amount per therapy sessions?
How much does my insurance pay for an out of network provider?
Do I have an out of network deductible?
How much of my out of network deductible has been met?
Check reimbursement for CPT codes 90791, 90837, 90846 and 90847

I have chose to charge out of pocket for various benefits:
I can offer more individualized care and you can end services when you are ready. You are in control of your care. There are no session limits that can sometimes be enforced by insurance.
You do not need to receive a mental health diagnosis in order to receive services, allowing me to provide more ethical, accurate, and honest care.
You will have consistency and transparency knowing what rates are due at time of service.
Increased privacy and confidentiality (except for limits of confidentiality).
Consulting with me on non-psychiatric issues that are important to you that aren’t billable by insurance, such as learning how to cope with life changes, gaining more effective communication techniques for your relationships, increasing personal insight, Christian counseling, and developing healthy new skills.

Great question. I wish there was a simple answer! Client progress varies depending on life circumstances and current distress.
The total duration of your treatment is up to you. Some clients find that committing to ongoing weekly or biweekly therapy for 6 months is a good start to begin diving in and doing deeper work. Whereas others find they only want/need a handful of sessions to feel equipped and move on. Whatever you decide we can create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and reassess as we go!
